SeedStep Angels (SSA) is a group of ~40 accredited angel investors in Oklahoma that has been in existence since 2009. SSA has chapters in OKC, Tulsa, Ardmore, and Muskogee, but will invest in deals anywhere in Oklahoma. SSA is not a fund. Member angels write individual checks to companies on a deal by deal basis. Members also occasionally invest in out-of-state companies that have been referred by another angel group. SSA is a member of the Angel Capital Association and managed by i2E, Inc. SSA has invested over $4.50mm since inception. The lowest amount the group has ever invested in a deal is $25K. The highest amount the group has ever invested in a deal is $550K. SSA typically participates in rounds that are between $750,000 and $1,250,000. Members will consider companies at any stage of development. Through 28 rounds of investment, 39% of rounds have been structured as preferred equity, 39% as convertible debts, and 22% as common equity.
